Tech Criticism in Contemporary Art
April 9th 2016We're opening a new art gallery in downtown Boston this spring with funding from Bocoup:
Our curatorial mission is to show works of art that are critical of the relationship between society and technology. We want to stay away from fetishizing technology as a medium, and instead show works that are tech-critical. Our first exhibition will be large acrylic pattern drawings on canvas from Kawandeep Virdee. The drawings look similar to the computational drawing fad coming from the Saul Lewitt computer-minimalist community, but are instead hand-drawn, with lots of mistakes, and celebrate the subjective and human part of drawing.
